Our friends took us to Strasbourg, France partly to see the cathedral and I'm sure I disappointed them by wanting to stay on the street and photograph scenes. But I'm so glad I did what I really wanted as some of these photos and subsequent paintings are my best and I never would have gotten them otherwise. I could have done a series on the interesting colors and shapes of stucco buildings.
